Larian Studios - Audio & Motion Capture Facility

A high-performance audio and motion capture facility built for the next generation of gaming.

This project involved the creation of four state-of-the-art suites, each featuring a fully floated control room and live room. Engineered for maximum acoustic isolation, the rooms sit on hybrid floating floors supported by isolation mounts, with shell walls constructed directly atop the floating system.

To fine-tune performance, the ceiling isolation strategy varies by room type: control room ceilings are suspended via resilient hangers, while live room ceilings are supported directly by the isolation shell walls—enhancing separation and minimizing cross-room transmission.

One of the standout challenges was the integration of vibration-free camera rigs in each suite. To prevent camera shake during motion capture sessions, we designed a fully isolated rigging system suspended from the building’s external structure. Each rig delicately pierces the isolation shell, ensuring stability without compromising acoustic integrity.

Internally, the rooms are treated with precision—featuring tailored acoustic solutions for both low and high frequencies. Walls and ceilings are finished with stretched fabric, creating a clean, professional aesthetic that matches the technical excellence beneath.
